How Do I Begin to Follow Jesus?
Connecting to everything God has for your life begins when we take the first step, making a decision to follow Jesus. Making the decision to follow Jesus is not as complicated as some think.
ADMIT you long for more in life and you have sinned.
Welcome to being human. We all long for purpose and struggle with a sinful nature. Coming to Jesus starts with simply admitting that you’ve sinned, feel empty, and separated from God. Jesus came to fix those things.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:23-24 NIV
BELIEVE Jesus is the only way to have a relationship with God.
Followers of Jesus have come to the realization that all of our good works and attempts to overcome sin are useless in creating a relationship with God. Jesus came and lived as a perfect man and died for all of us who are imperfect. He died in our place on the cross to pay for our sins, and his life and sacrifice was validated when God raised him from the dead. Jesus is our only hope to peace with God.

COMMIT your life to Jesus.
Committing your life to Jesus is when you become a follower of Jesus. Going to church is great but you can go to church and never make a commitment to him. Committing your life to Jesus happens when we choose to repent. The word repent simply means to change direction. Connecting to everything God has for your life begins when you commit to following Jesus and start implementing life changes that help you move forward in your faith

Jesus today I make a decision to follow you. I know my sins have separated me from God and believe that you are the only way to having a relationship with Him. I believe you died on the cross as a payment for my sins and rose from the dead so I could live like you. Amen…
